Beyond sending beautiful digital invitations, Paperless Post is packed with features designed to make event planning easier, more creative, and a little more magical. From scheduling automatic reminders to customizing your design with unique text effects, we’ve created tons of helpful tools that can elevate your invitations and guest experience. In this guide, we’re highlighting 10 features you might not know about—perfect for those who want to get more out of their invitations and make every event feel effortlessly special.

1. Broadcast messages

Paperless Post Cards and Flyers make it easy to send messages to guests invited to your event. To send a message, navigate to the menu on the left side of your invitation’s event page, and click “Messages & Reminders.” You can then choose to send a broadcast or a private message.

Broadcasts can be sent via text or email to all or certain groups of guests—for example, those who are attending, or those who have opened but not yet RSVPed—and can be a reminder to RSVP, an event reminder, a time or location change, a thank you message, or a custom message.

Private messages can be sent to any guest you’d like to communicate with in, well, a more private manner! You can use this feature to communicate whatever you want, whether it’s questions about how many people are in their party or their favorite type of wine.

Sending broadcasts or private messages is a great way to keep all your event communication in one convenient, easy-to-access spot.

2. In-app guest check-ins

With Paperless Post, tracking your guest list doesn’t end when RSVPs roll in. Our guest tracking system lets you check people in as they arrive, keep a clear record of who attended, and even export your attendee list as a spreadsheet for printing or use elsewhere—making follow-up a breeze. Think of it as an all-in-one tool for managing your guest experience from start to finish.

The Guest Check-In feature is currently available on our iOS and Android apps for both Card and Flyer invitations, so you can manage your event right from your phone. Learn more about how to use our in-app Guest Check-In feature here

3. Magic Art

Magic Art is like having your own AI-powered illustrator on call. Instead of being limited to pre-made stickers, you get to dream up exactly what you want—whether that’s a sketch of your pet, a watercolor bouquet, or a quirky Halloween ghost—and the tool will bring it to life for you. You simply describe your idea, pick a style, and watch as custom stickers appear, ready to make your Card one-of-a-kind.

Once you’ve created your sticker, you can play with it as much as you like—resize it, rotate it, duplicate it, or use it as the star of your design. It’s a fun way to make your invitations feel more personal and tailored to your event. Check out our full tutorial for using Magic Art here

4. Automatic event reminders

Keeping your guests on track is key to a stress-free event, and automatic reminders make it effortless. When guests RSVP, they can opt in to receive reminders about your event so they don’t forget the date and details.

As a host, you can also schedule your own reminders in advance using the Messages & Reminders section on your event page. Schedule a reminder for guests to RSVP, an event reminder to be sent the day before, or anything else you’d like to send to segments of guests on your invite list. It’s an easy way to make sure everyone stays in the loop, so you can focus on enjoying the celebration instead of chasing down RSVPs.

5. Embed in email

For business events, Paperless Post makes it easy to get your invitations directly in front of your audience. You can embed your invitation in emails using a Shareable Link, ensuring it fits seamlessly with your company’s messaging and branding. Optional password protection adds an extra layer of security, so only the intended recipients can access the details. This makes it perfect for corporate announcements, client events, webinars, or internal meetings, giving your invitations a polished, professional touch while keeping everything organized in one place.

6. Link to Google Maps

Your invitation event page makes it simple for guests to see exactly where your event is—and how to get there. Once you’ve added the event address, guests can simply click on it to open Google Maps in a separate tab, making directions and travel planning effortless. This way, your guests can quickly find the best route, check travel times, and even explore nearby parking or transit options, ensuring they arrive on time and stress-free.

7. Personal Design Services

Some ideas are simply too unique for templates—and that’s where our Personal Design Services team comes in. They can help with everything from translating greetings into another language to creating custom illustrations or watercolors inspired by your venue or story. If there’s text on a template you want to use that you can’t normally change—like “Party” or “Save the Date”—our team can adapt or translate it so it fits your voice and audience. Every invitation design comes with default font and color choices, but you’re not limited to the basics. With our text customization tools, you can tweak every detail to bring your exact design vision to life.

Experiment with Magic Fonts to add playful 3D or rainbow effects, or explore a wide selection of typefaces—from timeless serifs to romantic scripts—to match the tone of your event. And with the Custom Color feature, you can dial in the perfect shade, even mixing different fill and stroke colors for a truly unique look.

10. Add backside to Card

Most of your creative energy is likely going into designing the perfect front-facing Card and event page—but did you know you can also add a backside to your Card? It’s the perfect place to put additional information that doesn’t fit on the front of your Card or add a photo that may not work with the design on the front.

To add a backside to a single-sided Card, click the “More” button on your Card’s Edit/Create page, and then select “Add backside.” From there, you can select the color you want the backside to be, add an image, and add and format text just like you did on the front of the Card.
