What is Paperless Post?
Paperless Post is an online stationer. It provides the tools for you to design custom invitations, save the dates, and other virtual cards using its original line of stationery. Members create a recipient list with their contacts, and the invitations or cards are delivered directly to recipients' email inboxes. Unlike paper stationery, Paperless Post not only sends custom-designed invitations, it also provides a sophisticated system that tracks recipients' responses, allows hosts to follow-up with guests, and assists in managing events. It also allows you to archive and view past events and mailings, both sent and received.
Is there a monthly fee to use Paperless Post?
Signing up for a Paperless Post account is free and there are no monthly fees to be a member. Upon signing up, you will automatically receive 25 free Stamps and 10 free Custom Coins in your account. Stamps are all you need in order to send out your invitations, and Coins are not required. (What is a Paperless Stamp?)
What is a Paperless Stamp and how much does it cost?
A Paperless Stamp functions like a stamp in the U.S. Postal Service, allowing you to send Paperless mail to your recipients. Every Stamp allows you to send one invitation or card to one email address; it also includes tracking of the mailing and follow-up and reminder emails after the initial sending. You can purchase packages of Stamps that you can use for your various mailings, and your Stamps never expire.
Stamps are sold in packages, and the more Stamps you buy at once, the less each individual Stamp costs:
At any point (even right now), if you'd like to purchase Stamps you can click the ticker in the top right corner of your screen (that counts the number of Stamps currently in your account). You can purchase Stamps using your Visa, MasterCard, or American Express credit card.
Multiple packages of Stamps will need to be purchased in separate transactions. You may also contact us directly to do this more quickly.
Can I see a sample invitaiton before signing up?
Of course! Please just email inquiries@paperlesspost.comwith a description of the type of mailing you're considering sending, and we'd be happy to send you a sample of what a mailing of that sort might look like.
How do I sign up for a Paperless Post account?
Simply click the "Sign Up" button on the homepage, located on the left-hand side of the screen. Then fill in the form, agree to the Terms of Service, and click "Sign Up." You may have to verify your email address before being able to log in and begin designing invitations and cards, in which case you'll be sent a confirmation email.
Where are all the options for designs and templates?
You must register for an account in order to view all of the papers, motifs, and envelope liners available to create and customize your mailing. Before creating an account and signing in, you may scroll through the different categories of content we offer (located in the box on the homepage labeled "Sign up to design").
Can Paperless Post handle bulk mailings?
Each event or mailing on Paperless Post can handle up to 5,000 recipients successfully, and we do not recommend mailing to more than that number.
Can I upload my company's logo?
Paperless Post does not support automatic logo uploading yet. Please click here to review our logo pricing and the uploading options that we do have available. The process will require a high-resolution EPS or PDF file.
Can my guests forward their invitations to other people?
Paperless Post specializes in personalized mailings, so each guest has his or her own unique link to the invitation and RSVP page. If a guest forwards his or her invitation to someone else, that person who received the forwarded message will not be able to RSVP because the invitation, essentially, belongs to the original guest. Anyone who you wish to be able to RSVP must be on the guest list on the website. You can, however, specify to your guests that they are allowed to bring friends and should indicate how many (and the friends' names, if you wish) when RSVP'ing.
Are there ways to track and follow-up with guests/recipients of my mailing?
Yes, Paperless Post operates a very sophisticated Tracking and Follow-up system. Each mailing that is created and sent is linked to its own unique Tracking page that displays the full guest/recipient list and information pertinent to the individual guests/recipients and the mailing as a whole. From this page, you'll be able to view, sort, export and print guest names, guest emails, whether the mailing has been opened by a guest, RSVP statuses, comments left by guests, and total attending numbers for each guest.
There are also a multitude of Follow-up Tools that you can customize and send to your list or certain types of guests on your list. You can have our system automatically resend your mailing to those who have yet to open it, automatically send a reminder email for your event, or you can compose and send a custom message to your list.
Is it possible that my invitations (or cards) will end up in Spam folders?
Unfortunately, it is impossible to guarantee that every single email you send through Paperless Post, or any other web application, will evade the spam filters of every single recipient. Paperless Post operates a very sophisticated mailing system to ensure that your inbox hit rate is as close to 100% as possible. However there are sometimes exceptions, particularly at smaller email clients (such as corporate or company accounts).
If one or more of your guests has not RSVP'd, viewed, or opened his or her invitation or card (i.e., if his or her status is "Not Viewed" and the email has not been tagged as "Undeliverable" due to erroneous contact information, over-quota mailboxes, etc.), then it is conceivable that it is in his or her spam folder. To follow up with these particular recipients, mouse over the contact that you suspect received the invitation or card in spam on Tracking. Clicking his or her name will display information including a personal invitation URL ("Link to Card"). Send this contact the Link to Card in an email from your personal email account to ensure delivery.
Can I sell tickets or collect donations through my invitation?
No, this is not a feature that Paperless Post currently offers. However, you may certainly add the link to an outside ticketing service or donation collecting service to the reply/RSVP page of your mailing by pasting it into the "Note to Guests Above RSVP" box or the "Additional Information" box on the Details page of your mailing.
Alternatively, you may have your invitation linked directly to your ticketing/donation page (please email help@paperlesspost.com for assistance with this).
